April 18, 2024

Yesterday, 17 April 2024, Bjartur Nolsøe, the director of Vestnordenfonden, gave a lecture about the foundation to provide further information to no fewer than 20 participants, both physically present and online.

The presentation can be replayed here: Bjartur Nolsøe’s presentation on the Vestnorden Foundation

Vestnordenfonden is a foundation aimes small and medium-sized enterprises in Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Iceland. However, in order to lend money to Icelandic companies, it is required that they have a cooperation either with the Faroese or the Greenlandic.

It consists of a board of directors with seven members from seven different countries, who together take the final decisions on loan commitments.

The fund exists to promote business development. In cooperation with others, Vestnordenfonden supplements and offers loans to those who may otherwise find it difficult to obtain loan commitments from other sources of financing.

The application can be submitted by you who have a private limited company, limited liability company, sole proprietorship, stakeholder company.

Companies that contribute to environmentally sound investments, diversification, entrepreneurship, generational change and create training places and jobs are prioritised in the application process.

For the granted companies, the fund can offer sparring, advice and financing in connection with generational change.

As a business owner, you can apply for loans for e.g. loans for boats, machines, buildings, system development and the like.
