Competence Development in Sustainability in Qeqertalik

Last week, a course in basic sustainability was held for local businesses. Participants spent a day filled with knowledge and practical exercises focusing on sustainable solutions and the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The course took place at Hotel SØMA in Aasiaat and was facilitated by Navarana Bidstrup from Qeqertalik Business Council. Through presentations, discussions, and concrete examples, participants gained inspiration and tools to integrate sustainability into their daily work.

During the event, both Hotel SØMA Aasiaat and the Greenland Bank branch in Aasiaat presented their own sustainability initiatives, providing participants with practical examples of how sustainability can be implemented within different organizations.

Several participants, including representatives from Royal Arctic Line, Masanti, and Cut in Aasiaat, expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to refresh their understanding of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Others highlighted the course as an eye-opener on just how broad the concept of sustainability is.

Qeqertalik Business Council regularly offers courses and workshops aimed at strengthening local businesses and helping them develop their organizations. This course was part of the council’s range of offerings, and those interested can find upcoming courses and events at qbc.gl/aktivitetskalender.

We thank all participants and look forward to meeting even more of you at future events!
