During the spring of 2021, the personal gallery on the boards of several of the Government owned companies has been renewed. The same applied to the national tourist board, Visit Greenland A/S, where the chairman was the only re-elected member, while the rest of the board members were picked up as new.

Here it was clear that the Naalakkersuisut had emphasized filling the posts with new forces with a background within the country’s business and tourism development companies as well as entrepreneurs.

Among the new board members appointed was Gerth P. Olsen, CEO of Destination Diskobay & Qeqertalik Business Council A/S.

“This is of great benefit to our region, that I as a child of Disko Bay with experience in tourism, have the honor of representing the area through Visit Greenland’s board” said Gerth.

He also acknowledges that there is a lot to prepare in our region as a destination, but that there is focus on preparing the entire region for the airport expansion in Ilulissat, which will also leave swells for the whole country, Disko Bay and the Municipality of Qeqertalik. In addition, he looks forward to an increased cooperation with the business and tourism players in the whole country, as well as Avannaata Kommunia, to accommodate the upcoming guests.
