On 20 October 2026, Destination Diskobay participated in AECO’s Meet the Destinations & Market Place in Oslo, Norway. The event brought together tour operators, destination representatives and stakeholders from the cruise industry to exchange experiences and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

During the event, Destination Diskobay experienced strong interest in the region, particularly in the opportunities Diskobay offers within tourism and cruise tourism.

Quark Expeditions Seeks Closer Cooperation

Destination Manager Ane Siegstad met with a member of the management team at Quark Expeditions. Quark Expeditions already operates in the Diskobay area and is interested in further developing its cooperation with local operators in the region.

Destination Diskobay will therefore arrange a follow-up meeting with Quark Expeditions to strengthen connections with local operators and foster closer relationships between the cruise line and local stakeholders.

The aim is to explore opportunities for closer cooperation that can create new opportunities for local operators and contribute positively to the development of tourism in Diskobay.

New Opportunities for Collaboration

Participation in AECO 2026 gave Destination Diskobay an opportunity to raise the region’s profile on the international tourism stage and establish new contacts with relevant potential partners.

Following the event, further meetings are planned with tour operators and representatives from other cruise lines. The aim is to strengthen Diskobay’s position as a destination, expand opportunities for local operators and support the sustainable development of tourism in the area.
