Qeqertalik Business Council has in collaboration with dronepilot.gl, just held a three days drone course in Aasiaat where there was a discounted user fee of DKK 5,000 per. participant, including co-financing from the Business Council of DKK 3,000 per participant.

It was the first time a drone course was held in Aasiaat and the interest was great. 16 paying students from Kangaatsiaq, Qeqertarsuaq and Aasiaat participated. It was both private and public companies that had an interest in being allowed to fly drones, also within the city limits, with permission and dispensation from the necessary agencies.

“I think the course was very relevant, today drones are also used for professional purposes, also in our company. I have gained greater knowledge of the applicable legislation and have had a lot of exchange of experience with the other participants and the instructor. I will use the training to make quality assurance of our ongoing constructions, document and make before and after recordings and not least for branding of our workplace”. Destination Manager in the Qeqertalik region, Linda Kleist, who is responsible for branding of our municipality, said the following: “It is our hope that the participants in the course will be better at promoting their city or village to the rest of the world, with nicer and more attractive video clips taken with their drones. In this way, potential guests will have a greater incentive and desire to come and visit our region”.
