Director of Destination Diskobay, Gerth P. Olsen, boards the cruise ship M/S Maud today from Nuuk.
Destination Diskobay, together with a number of other Greenlandic tourist stakeholders, has been invited by AECO (The Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators), which has allied itself with Hurtigruten, for a sailing trip along the Greenlandic west coast, in the company of other foreign tourists who visit the country by water .
During the cruise, the Greenlandic delegation will get an insight into being a cruise ship guest in Greenland, just as introductions will also be exchanged across the tourism players, so that we all gain an understanding of each other’s background and work for a sustainable development of the industry together with AECO member ships.
“This is a unique offer to get when you work in tourism, we must take full advantage of it, we must become smarter and expand our network, and hopefully in that way work more with sustainability in the business” says Gerth P. Olsen.
