The annual travel fair, Vestnorden Travelmart, took place this year in Akureyri, the vibrant cultural and commercial hub of North Iceland, on September 30 and October 1, 2025. Destination Diskobay was represented by Director Gerth P. Olsen, who together with 38 other Greenlandic companies participated to present the unique experiences Greenland has to offer international travel agents.

In total, around 450 participants – both buyers and sellers from across the world – attended the fair, which was filled with energy, networking, and new business opportunities. For the first time, the Greenlandic companies had the opportunity to travel together on a direct flight from Greenland to Akureyri and back, providing a strong foundation for community and collaboration among the participants.

“I had the pleasure of meeting 18 specially selected travel agents from around the world, who showed great interest in our region. Many had already chosen to focus on Greenland and are increasingly looking for new, unique experiences to offer their customers,” said Gerth P. Olsen.

In addition to the scheduled speed-dating meetings, the fair also offered several social events, providing valuable opportunities to network and strengthen relations between international partners and Greenlandic stakeholders.

Vestnorden Travelmart 2025 has once again confirmed its role as an important platform for showcasing products and fostering collaborations that can drive the future growth of Greenlandic tourism.
