New Destination Manager

On October 15, 2025, Jens-Christian Jacobsen started as the new Destination Manager at Destination Diskobay. In this role, he will help strengthen and develop tourism and business growth, and continue building the shared brand for the Disko Bay region.

Jens-Christian is 32 years old. He holds a vocational degree as an office assistant (EUD) and has more than seven years of experience in project management, finance, and stakeholder relations from his previous positions as product manager, key account manager, and ministerial secretary. He is ready to support local businesses and contribute to the development of Qeqertalik Municipality.

As Destination Manager, he will play a key role in uniting and strengthening tourism initiatives across the region. He will help further develop our shared brand for Disko Bay and ensure that our unique destination remains visible and attractive — locally, nationally, and internationally. He will work to promote tourism as a skilled and sustainable industry for the benefit of our local communities, residents, and visitors alike.

At Qeqertalik Business Council and Destination Diskobay, Jens-Christian will contribute to promoting the Disko Bay area, focusing on the strengths and potential of Qeqertalik. In addition, he will coordinate tourism projects and help align regional and national tourism strategies — with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
