In the first week of June, business stakeholders and partners were gathered for a business seminar with the theme “Ambitious Business Development in Qeqertalik.”
The purpose of the event is to strengthen collaboration across businesses with a focus on a specific region, where companies will work together to advance the business sector through ambitious development in close dialogue with the region’s stakeholders.
“It is important for us to contribute to business development in the regions and to talk with locals about their potential. We also want to help stimulate the different regions in our effort to raise the whole country as part of our social responsibility,”
says Søren Stenberg, Director of Business at Bank of Greenland.
The event was part of a regional tour through Aasiaat, Qasigiannguit, Qeqertarsuaq, and Kangaatsiaq, focusing on how we can strengthen business and tourism development in Qeqertalik – across towns and settlements in the region.
The seminar featured inspiring presentations from, among others, CEO Thomas “Tyt” Mogensen from Nalik Ventures, Business Director Søren Stenberg from Bank of Greenland, CEO Christian Keldsen from Greenland Business Association, and CEO Gerth P. Olsen from Qeqertalik Business Council.
They highlighted their respective business areas and services, touching on themes such as collaboration, business potential, and the courage to think bigger in local business development.
“We are happy to present our opportunities, products, and services, as well as to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the local stakeholders whom we normally do not have the chance to meet every day. It is precisely these close conversations about local challenges and wishes that are especially interesting to gain insight into, so we can contribute constructively in our continued cooperation on business development throughout Greenland,”
says Thomas ’Tyt’ Mogensen, CEO of Nalik Ventures.
After the presentations, Gerth P. Olsen from Qeqertalik Business Council facilitated an engaging workshop where participants contributed ideas and reflections on future development opportunities in their respective communities.
“It was uplifting to speak directly and eye-to-eye with the top leaders of the organizations and talk with them about our thoughts and ideas in our own town. It was a rewarding event,”
says Danny Mølgaard from Disko Adventures, who participated in the seminar in Qeqertarsuaq.
The event laid the groundwork for new networks and strengthened collaboration across the region and among the participating businesses.
The organizations’ work of engaging with entrepreneurs and business owners continues in Aasiaat, where the Qeqertalik Business Council is based and Bank of Greenland has a branch. Additionally, Nalik Ventures advisors are spending several days speaking directly with more entrepreneurs and businesspeople in the region.
