Then you are probably our new Project Manager!

Who are we?

The Qeqertalik Business Council is the business council of the Municipality of Qeqertalik, and the company also consists of the destination development company Destination Diskobay, which is responsible for tourism development in the entire region.

We are a small office with good relations with the region’s business and tourism players and the municipality’s various departments. We have our head office in Aasiaat’s oldest building in the middle of the city. We also travel quite a bit to visit the municipality’s towns and villages as well as to participate in conferences and fairs within our area, which is why you can also expect to be part of the trips.

Who are you?

• You have a short or medium-term higher education in communication, tourism, finance, marketing or something else relevant.
• You are ready to work independently with your tasks, and you are prepared for there to be a lot of variety in the tasks.
• You are a sociable and approachable person who knows how to communicate at eye level with stakeholders from all corners of Greenlandic society.
• It is an advantage if you have experience with project management and communication, but there is also plenty of room for you to influence your tasks yourself.
• It is also an advantage that you have knowledge of various standards within reporting on climate efforts and sustainability, but the most important thing is that you have an interest in the sustainable transition and want to contribute actively with knowledge and solutions to problems.
• Since our work and products are most often published in both Greenlandic, Danish and English, it is a clear advantage if you are fluent in written and spoken Greenlandic. As a minimum, however, you must speak Danish and English at a professional level.
• You have a flair for communication and can work with upskilling entrepreneurs.

What do the tasks consist of?

As an independent company owned by the municipality, we work according to a municipal service contract and a new strategy from the new year, which gives us a mandate to lift a number of concrete action plans within tourism and business development. Your work will consist of implementing these action plans, and this may include, among other things:

• Project management of the action plans, including more concrete specification of the tasks, cooperation with the stakeholders on this and dialogue with the municipality’s relevant administration in the area.
• Needs and stakeholder analyses, as well as preparation of budget drafts right down to the low practical level.
• Preparation of our fixed deliveries to the municipality, including settings for the municipality’s budget, our annual business plan, etc.

In addition, we expect you to look forward to participating in our regular operations, which apply to:

• Ongoing communication work such as news for the website, minor press assignments, preparation of texts and storytelling within both tourism and business.
• Maintenance and operation of our social media and websites (www.diskobay.gl and www.qbc.gl).
• Planning and execution of events such as entrepreneur cafés, courses or tripartite meetings.
• Advising local entrepreneurs or citizens with ideas for development.

Employment will take place on an individual contract as soon as possible or by further agreement. However, with an application deadline of 15. August 2024 at the latest. Initially, no staff accommodation will be provided for the job, but we will be helpful in exploring the possibilities.
