This year’s AdventureELEVATE Europe was held in Kitzbühel, Austria. Destination Manager Navarana Bidstrup participated and represented the Qeqertalik region with Destination Diskobay, together with seven other destination developers from Greenland.

The event brought together participants from 39 countries and five continents.

One of the main themes was safety acceleration, an extremely relevant topic at a time when Naalakkersuisut is working to authorize tourist companies, which must document their safety procedures.

Another main topic was sustainability, including the concept of “Slowcal”, which promotes slower travel with minimal impact on nature and with a focus on authentic local experiences.

“It has been an honor to be able to represent our region at AdventureELEVATE and contribute to the promotion of Qeqertalik. Presenting the upcoming international airports in Nuuk and Ilulissat, which will open new doors for travel to and from Greenland and the Diskobay, was a particular joy.

Our region is ideal for exploring cities and small towns through round trip in Diskobay, providing a unique travel experience. I also talked to international travel agents and media professionals as well as network with other destination developers during the event,” said Destination Manager Navarana Bidstrup.
